Our family is planning a trip to Nantucket this summer and I’m so excited to go that I think I’m already there (in my mind, at least). We’ve rented a house near the beach and are scouring the web for cheap airfare (there are 16 of us). I am dreaming of doughnuts from The Nantucket Bake Shop, ice cream from The Juice Bar and the “turkey terrific” sandwich from Provisions.
The homes on the island are overflowing with charm. This is one of my all-time favorite Nantucket houses. And if I had about $4,000,000 to spend on a summer home, it would be mine!!! I think it is currently listed for sale and it was previously listed for rent, but I can’t seem to find the rental information. The house was featured in Coastal Living and is situated on the western shores of Nantucket on Esther’s Island. The home is always accessible by boat and sometimes accessible by car (depending on the tide). The house is totally “off-the-grid” using solar and wind energy. It’s one of only a handful of homes on the island. It’s dreamy!
The kitchen is simple but beautiful. The dining table doubles as a ping pong table. How cool!
The kitchen/family room ceiling resembles a ship’s hull.
Double queen beds. l love it!
I love how the stone looks like a river bed.
I could play family games in the screened porch area for hours.
Who doesn’t want to walk out to this every morning?
